Trim element comprising a screen with two configurations and associated vehicle
The present invention relates to a vehicle trim element comprising a body defining the shape of an external surface and an information display system, the trim element being positionable in a first configuration and in a second configuration.
Such a lining element is, for example, intended to be integrated in a vehicle, for example a motor vehicle, more particularly at the driving position.
The document US 2006 0131088 A1 describes a screen arranged on the front of the dashboard. The screen can be moved in a horizontal direction from the dashboard. This allows the driver or front passenger to move the screen for a better view.
However, in such a configuration, the face of the dashboard facing the passenger compartment is partially hidden by the screen. More particularly here, the face of a CD player is hidden by the screen when it is in the extreme position closest to the driver.
In addition, the screen is prominent compared to the dashboard, which is not aesthetically satisfactory.
One of the aims of the invention is to allow optimal integration of a screen within the rest of the trim element in all possible configurations.
To this end, the invention relates to a packing element of the aforementioned type, in which the display system is moved in a first direction between the first configuration and the second configuration and in that the shape of the external surface is modified between the first configuration and the second configuration.
Moving the display system between the first configuration and the second configuration allows, for example, to adapt the environment to different situations. For example, such a trim element is particularly suitable for the so-called manual driving position of an autonomous vehicle, the first configuration being provided in the context of a driving position and the second configuration while the vehicle is in so-called autonomous driving, in which the intervention of a driver is not necessary to steer the vehicle.
In addition, the modification of the shape of the external surface makes it possible to adapt the trim element for better integration of the screen into the element. More particularly, it allows for example to make visible or highlight areas of the display system according to the chosen configuration.
According to particular embodiments, the packing element of the invention has one or more of the following optional characteristics, taken in isolation or according to all the technically possible characteristics:
- the display system is moved in a second direction, different from the first direction, between the first configuration and the second configuration, so that the surface of the display system visible in the second configuration is greater than the surface of the system display visible in the first configuration,
the display system moves from a position close to an extreme part of the external surface to a position substantially in the center of the lining element in the first direction between the first configuration and the second configuration,
the external surface has the shape of a bowl, the bowl moving from a position close to an extreme part of the external surface to a position substantially in the center of the packing element in the first direction between the first configuration and the second configuration,
the external surface has the shape of a bowl having a bottom, the dimension of the bottom in the first direction increasing between the first configuration and the second configuration,
- the display system has a single screen,
- information relating to the driving of the vehicle is displayed on the information display system in the first configuration,
- the display system, in the second configuration, has no area arranged to display information related to driving,
- the shape of the external surface delimits part of the outline of the information display system.
The invention further relates to a vehicle comprising a trim element as described above.
The invention will be better understood on reading the description which follows, given solely by way of nonlimiting example and made with reference to the appended drawings, in which:
FIG. 1 is a schematic perspective view of a packing element according to an embodiment of the invention in a first configuration,
FIG. 2 is a schematic perspective view of the packing element of FIG. 1 in a second configuration,
FIG. 3 is a schematic perspective view of the body in the first configuration,
FIG. 4 is a schematic perspective view of the body in the second configuration,
FIG. 5 is a schematic view from the top of the body, and
- Figure 6 is a schematic view of part of the lining element in the first configuration and the second configuration.
An example of a packing element 10 according to the invention is shown in FIGS. 1 and 2.
The trim element 10 is, for example, integrated in a vehicle, more particularly in a driving position of a vehicle and forms, for example, a dashboard of the vehicle. The invention is however suitable for the lining of other parts of the vehicle interior, such as a door, a seat or the like.
We define an elevation direction Z, for example, in the usual direction in a vehicle, that is to say the direction perpendicular to the running surface of the vehicle in which the trim element is intended to be installed. We define the terms "top" and "bottom" in the direction of elevation in the usual sense.
Longitudinal X and transverse Y directions are also defined perpendicular to the elevation direction Z in the usual direction in a vehicle. The expressions “front” and “rear”, “left” and “right” will be used in the following with respect to the normal direction of movement of the vehicle.
The packing element 10 includes a body 12 and an information display system 14.
The body 12 defines the shape of an external surface 16 of the trim element 10, that is to say the visible surface of the trim element 10, for example from the passenger compartment of the vehicle in which the packing element 10 is installed. It is understood that the external surface 16 follows the shape of a surface of the body 12. In other words, the external surface 16 can be formed by the body 12 or by a decorative layer extending over the body 12 and adopting the shape of a body surface 12.
The body 12 is for example a vehicle dashboard body or a door panel or the like.
At least one zone 18 of the body 12 is deformable under the effect of an actuation, so that the shape of the external surface 16 can be modified in the deformable zone 18. According to one embodiment, the body 12 is made deformable by the material in which the deformable zone is made, for example an elastic material. According to another embodiment, the deformation can be obtained by inflating an inflatable element interposed between the body and a decorative layer extending over the body.
The deformable zone 18 is, for example, obtained by a succession of strips 40 formed in the body 12 each extending in the longitudinal direction X, as visible in FIG. 5. The strips 40 are adjacent to each other in the direction transverse Y and form a part of the surface of the body defining the external surface 16 of the packing element. Each strip 40 is for example cut from the body 12 and comprises a first end secured to the rest of the body 42 and a second free end 44, forming part of a transverse edge of the body 12. Due to its shape, each strip 40 is deformable with respect to the rest of the body in the direction of elevation Z, for example by rotation about a transverse axis passing in the vicinity of the first end. Thus, by exerting pressure on the second free end 44, it is possible to move the strip 40 relative to the rest of the body, so that it extends in a plane different from the rest of the surface of the body when 'it is distorted. The succession of lamellae 40 in the transverse direction forms a guide surface.
Two actuating elements 46 cooperate with the lamellae 40 in order to deform them and create the desired shapes in the external surface of the packing element.
More particularly, each actuating element 46 comprises an actuating section extending in a non-rectilinear manner in the transverse direction Y. The actuating section cooperates with the guide surface in an actuating area so that the surface guide adopts the shape of the actuating section in said actuating zone. The actuation section is movable relative to the body 12 in the transverse direction so that the actuation zone is movable and that the external surface 16 of the body 12 is deformed when the actuation element is displaced in the transverse direction Y relative to the body 12.
According to this embodiment, which is given only by way of example, the actuating elements are such that when the actuating elements 46 are adjacent to each other, in a close position, the deformed zone of the external surface has, between the actuation zones, a bowl shape 34, the bottom 36 of which extends into the actuation zones, as shown in FIG. 3.
By moving the two actuating elements in a coordinated way so that they remain adjacent to each other, it is possible to move the bowl in the transverse direction Y.
It is also possible to enlarge the dimensions of the bottom 36 of the bowl 34 by moving the actuating elements 46 independently of one another so as to separate them from one another. Due to the stresses applied by the actuation section on the guide surface, the part of the guide surface extending between the two actuation zones remains deformed even though this part does not cooperate with the actuation elements. 46, as shown in FIG. 4.
Note that the deformed zone retains a certain rigidity because it is supported on the actuating element which is rigid. Thus, the feel and the mechanical resistance of the external surface is substantially the same over the entire surface, including in the deformed zone.
The body 12 also has a groove 20 extending mainly in a first direction, corresponding in the example shown to the transverse direction Y. The groove 20 is hollowed out substantially in a second direction, corresponding here to the direction of elevation Z with respect to the external surface 16. The groove 20 here extends in front of the deformable zone 18, such that the deformable zone 18 at least partially defines one side of the groove 20.
The display system 14 is arranged in the groove 20 of the body 12.
The display system 14 extends mainly in the first and second directions.
The display system 14 comprises at least one screen 22, more particularly a single screen.
The screen 22 extends over a rear face 24 of the display system 14, more particularly facing the passenger compartment of the vehicle.
The screen 22 extends over at least 80% of the rear face of the display system 14. In one embodiment, the screen 22 extends over the entire rear face of the display system 14 .
The deformable zone 18 extends opposite the screen 22, between the screen 22 and the passenger compartment, so that the deformable zone 18 partially conceals the screen from the passenger compartment.
The packing element 10 can be positioned in a first configuration visible in FIG. 1 and in a second configuration visible in FIG. 2.
The display system 14 is moved in the first direction between the first configuration and the second configuration. More particularly, the display system 14 is moved by sliding in the groove 20 of the body 12.
When the first configuration is a manual driving configuration, in which a driver drives the vehicle, the display system 14 is in a position close to an extreme transverse part of the external surface 16 in the first configuration. More particularly, the display system 14 is near one of the ends of the groove 20.
In the case of a dashboard, the display system 14 is arranged at least in front of the driver in the first configuration.
Information relating to the driving of the vehicle is displayed on at least part of the information display system 14 in the first configuration.
In the first configuration, the information display system 14 displays, more particularly, the on-board instruments such as speed, fuel level and / or engine tachometer. This allows the driver to visualize the information useful for driving. More particularly, the display system has at least a first display area 26 for driving information and at least a second display area 28 for entertainment. The first display area 26 is provided facing the driver, while the second display area 28 extends substantially at the center of the trim element 10 in the first direction.
The second display area 28 is of such size and location that it does not interfere with the driver to drive.
In the second configuration, the display system 14 is substantially at the center of the trim element 10 in the first direction.
The display system 14, in the second configuration, has no area arranged to display information related to driving.
Alternatively, the display system 14 displays information related to driving, which represents less than 25% of the displayable area of the display system 14.
More particularly, in the second configuration, the display system 14 has a main area 30, more particularly of entertainment, extending, for example, over at least 60% of the surface of the screen.
The main zone 30 in the second configuration has a surface strictly greater than that of the second display zone 28 in the first configuration.
In the example shown, the display system 14 also has two secondary zones 32 in the second configuration, the secondary zones 32 extending on either side of the main zone 30 in the first direction.
The display system 14 is also also moved in the second direction between the first configuration and the second configuration, so that the surface of the display system visible in the second configuration is greater than the display surface visible in the first configuration.
The display system 14 in the second configuration is higher in the second direction relative to the body 12 than the display system in the first configuration, as visible in FIG. 6, for example from a distance of between 10 mm and 150 mm, more particularly between 25 mm and 100 mm.
The groove 20 has, for example, a curved bottom in the center in the first direction, so that when the display system 14 moves in the groove 20, it also moves in the second direction.
Furthermore, the shape of the external surface 16 is modified between the first configuration and the second configuration, more particularly in the deformable zone of the body 12.
The external surface 16 has the shape of a bowl 34, more particularly in the first direction, as described previously in the embodiment of the deformable zone 18, in which the transverse direction Y corresponds to the first direction, the direction of elevation Z corresponds to the second direction and the longitudinal direction X corresponds to a third direction.
The bowl shape has a bottom 36.
In the first configuration, the bowl 34 is in a position close to an extreme transverse part of the external surface 16.
More particularly, the bowl 34 is arranged at the first display area 26. In the case of a dashboard, the bowl 34 is arranged facing the driver. This allows in particular to highlight the information displayed on the screen 22 facing the driver, which is likely to be useful for driving.
In the second configuration, the bowl 34 is in a position substantially in the center of the lining element 10 in the first direction.
More particularly, the bowl 34 is arranged at least at the main zone 30 of the display system 14. This in particular makes it possible to increase the surface of the screen visible from the passenger compartment.
The dimension of the bottom 36 of the bowl 34 in the first direction increases between the first configuration and the second configuration. In the first configuration, the dimension of the bottom 36 of the bowl 34 in the first direction is between 150 and 300 mm, while, in the second configuration, it is between 400 and 600 mm.
The displacement of the display system 14 makes it possible to adapt the environment of the vehicle according to the need of a user.
Such a trim element is likely to be intended for the driving position of an autonomous vehicle, the first configuration being provided in the context of a driving position and the second configuration while the vehicle is in autonomous mode. Thus the display system adapts the display areas and the information displayed according to the need.
In addition, the deformation of the external surface makes it possible to dynamically integrate the display system into the lining element.
It is understood that the display system 14 and the external surface 16 can be positioned in other configurations in order to precisely adapt the position of the display system 14 and the shape of the external surface 16 to the choices of the vehicle occupants. , for example to bring the display system 14 closer to the front passenger of the vehicle and / or to adapt the shape of the external surface 16 in order to draw the occupants of the vehicle to a particular area of the display system 14.
